I'VE MOVED!!!

Hi!

I don't know if people still go here or even read my stories,BUT, I will say that I have moved to a different place. My blog is now on wordpress!

There wasn't really a specific reason why I moved, but I felt like I needed a change and at first I tried doing it on Tumblr but it didn't work out well.

Book Review: A Work in Progress by Connor Franta (Contains Spoilers...i guess?)

I'm kidding, it's time for a book review. If it is time to duel, then well you do your thing! 

Onto the actual review!!

Actual Review:

I don't really know how to review a memoir, I mean I can't really judge a person's life story, right? It's not like I didn't like the book, in fact I really want to read it again. I'm just gonna talk about the actual book and what I felt throughout. 

Honestly this book is probably the most inspiring book I've ever read. Knowing someone's life story, seeing them learn from their mistakes and succeed in life is a great feeling and it makes you want to go out there and do more. When I saw the title of the book I thought it was a great fit. He's only 22 years old and he has done much and continues to do more, because his life and even our lives are a work in progress.

You know that little voice in your head when you silently read? It usually sounds like  your own voice, right? Instead of reading the book with my inside voice, it was his voice. It was like I was just having a conversation with him.It was like Connor was just sitting down with me over a cup of coffee telling me his life story. He also gave me some great advice. You can't really have that with some books. Also the book is really freakin' pretty, like it's prettier than my face. I could probably stare and take pictures of that book for hours.

I feel like even if you don't know who Connor is, or haven't really seen his videos on YouTube, it's still a really good read, specially if you want to get to know him better. The book gets more personal than a Q & A video. Obviously his subscribers are going to feel familiar because they've watched his videos and follow him on every social media. There's also the amazing photography in that book and I'm sure everyone appreciates some really good pictures. Another thing about those pictures is that they fit the chapters (btw, great chapter titles).

Conclusion:

The book is a 10 out of 10 and I'm gonna read it another three times. I'm really happy that so many people in the YouTube community are coming out with such great book, whether it's a  memoir or even a work of fiction. The books motivate other people to do the things they've been putting off because they feel so crappy all the time (coughmecough). Such a great book, there wasn't one time where I got bored or wanted to skip pages.

2014 Coming to a Close

I hope everyone is having a great New Years party. Whether you are at home with family, or having fun with friends, I hope this was a good year for everyone. I'd say 2014 was an alright year. It had its ups and downs, but it's almost over, and soon everyone (if not already) will get a new canvas to paint on. I want you, whoever is reading this to do me a favor.

Don't forget the things that have happened this past year. That would be foolish, giving the fact that we learn from our past. I know bad things have happened, and it hurts thinking about it, but sometimes you become so familiar with the pain that it becomes a normal feeling. Remember the good things that happened, even the smallest things can help reach your goal. It's been a difficult year for me, I'm not even spending the New Year with my siblings, the people I love the most. But if I want to start fresh, then I guess this will have to do.

Also, don't create some silly New Years resolution that you know isn't going to get done. Make small goals for yourself, one baby step at a time. I tried to do everything at once, and it went in flames. Now all that's left is the ashes, and I know what to do. I'm sure this line has been used before, but I'm going to rise from the ashes. You should too. Whether you want to read more, write, work out more often, travel, don't let something small get to you. Don't give up so easily, try things on your own. Be who you are, and do what you want to do.

I honestly don't know what's coming for me this year. Beginning of last year I decided to create this blog, because I wanted to write. By the end of the year, I wasn't so sure what I wanted to do, I still don't really know. One thing I do know is that I'm going to keep writing, because I enjoy it, and even though I constantly doubt myself, and my abilities, I can't stop. I won't stop. You can have no idea what you want to do, and that's okay. You're not a nobody because you can't decide, or because the decision didn't come as easy to you as others. You want to do so much, you don't know where to start. Take it slow. Live a little.

Right now, I'm in my aunt's guest room typing this because I felt the need to do it. Maybe it was more to reassure me, that things can be taken slow, and you don't have to do everything, but I want other people to know as well. You are not alone, and so many things, great things, are coming your way. Don't let the bad ones take over.

Some good things that happened to me in the year would be that I got to climb a giant mountain, with water cascading down, just to go to a beach. It was terrifying, but totally worth it. The second thing is that I learned that quitting is okay. I quit soccer, because I realized that I wasn't enjoying myself, and I felt like crap. A few other good things that happened this year were: realizing that I was a feminist , me wanting to help people, do some real good in the world (I'm starting to sound like Oliver Queen), and I also took notice that I really enjoy fondue. The bad things still linger around, but I don't care. I want to be happy, which is difficult.

Book Review: If I Stay by Gayle Forman (Contains Spoilers)

Hallo, my deers! Get it? Deers, instead of dears. Ahh, okay I'm done. Alright, so I probably read this book in a week, or something close to that. I'm going to finish the year with a sad book, and another book I'm reading right now, 'This Star Won't Go Out.' I honestly cannot wait to get my hands on the sequel of 'If I Stay,' but until then I'm just gonna review!

My Opinion:

I'm not gonna lie, but I often spend time thinking about things that this book talked about. Specially thinking about whether I want to live, or just let everything go. I didn't really connect to the love story because I haven't been in love, but I did understand the love between Mia, and Adam. He was willing to let her go, just so she could live and continue with her life. Then her grandfather completely understood if she decided that she wanted to go, and leave everything behind. The fact that one minute she had everything, and the next she lost it all. I adore this book, it's beautiful. 5 out of 5 stars. I cried, I cried a lot.

What's Going On:

'If I Stay' is about a girl, Mia, who one minute is in the car with her parents, and her little brother Teddy, and then she's in the hospital, her parents are dead, and so is her brother, and she has to make a decision. Should she stay, or just let her life go, end it all? Throughout the book, she sees her loved ones talk to her unconscious body, and how they feel, and what some people would do to make her stay. Some people are willing to let her go, if that's what she really wants. She doesn't really know what to do, she gets so tired, and she's ready to give up. At the same time she's giving up, she also doesn't want to. The book is a journey of her mind, and a lot of decision making. 

Favorites:

I really like the plan Adam, and Kim make to go and see Mia, along with Brooke Vega. Mia's parents, and her brother Teddy, how they don't take life too seriously, and they appreciate life. Mia's grandparents reminded me a lot of my own, the grandmother who believes in angels and twitters so much, and the grandfather who is so quiet but when he speaks, only words of wisdom come out. At the Yo-Yo Mama concert when Adam and Mia first kiss, it was so cute, and I just wanted to hug them and love them forever. My last favorite part (even though the whole book was my favorite) is the fist fight between little Mia, and Kim. It was a fun scene watching the girls go from rivals to best friends. A little scene that made me crack up.

Book Review: The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan (Contains Spoilers)

Where the hell have you been? Who's asking? Probably no one. I'll share that story some other time. What's really important is that I'm back, and that this year I read 13 books. I may have read more, but I didn't count them, either way, I'm proud. One of the books that I just finished is Blood of Olympus. Yes I know, late to the party.

Anyway this is the last book of  the Heroes of Olympus series, and I didn't write reviews for the others, because I didn't have the blog when I read them. Now, let's get reviewing!

My Opinion:

I'm slightly disappointed, and I'm kind of angry because I didn't want to feel that way. I was expecting all of the characters to have their own POV (point of view) but we only had 5, and there was no Annabeth, or Percy. I was thrilled that they had Nico, and Reyna chapters, but I wanted more. Don't get me wrong, I love the other characters, especially Leo, but I wanted all of them in it. Also, that ending didn't satisfy me at all. It was cute, but I was expecting one of the 7 demigods to die. I don't count Octavian (as much as I liked him) as a death, because he wasn't in the prophecy. I don't believe that Leo is dead either. Another thing that bothered me is that it felt rushed. Every thing went too fast. I still enjoyed the book, and all their references, plus their sarcasm made me crack up. I'd probably give the book a 4 out of 5 stars. There was just something missing. I still enjoyed the book, just not as much as I hoped.

What's Going On: 

This is the last book of the Heroes of Olympus series. The seven demigods: Percy, Annabeth, Nico, Jason, Piper, Leo, and Reyna, must save the earth, from mother earth herself, Gaea. They all play a major role in the prophecy, and one of them is destined to die in the battle. Nico, Reyna, and Coach Hedge have to bring the Athena Parthenos back to Camp Half-Blood, to create peace between the Greeks, and the Romans. Hazel, Frank, and Leo go to the island of Delos to speak to Artemis, and Apollo, who have hidden from all the conflict. Leo finds out that he must use fire in order to win the war, which could mean his death. They must find the Physician's Cure, so he can still go back to Calypso. Jason believes that he must complete what he believes is his part of the prophecy: 'to storm or fire, the world must fall.' In order for Piper to fight, she must give into the fear. Percy, and Annabeth are still in somewhat of a shock from House of Hades. They don't try and talk about it too much.

Favorite Parts:

One of my favorite parts of the book is when Leo and Percy confront the goddess Nike, and they don't know how to summon her, so Percy says that if they promote Adidas, maybe she'll appear. Another favorite is when Leo doesn't know how to start a conversation with Percy, and in his head he thinks 'Catch that last episode of Doctor Who? Oh, right. You were trudging through the Pit of Eternal Damnation!' My last of many favorite moments of the book is when Nico tells Percy that he had a crush on him, and that he's over him, and he leaves, giving Annabeth a high five. I'm a sucker for comedy in moments of tragedy.

TV Show Review: Teen Wolf Season 4 (Contains Major Spoilers)

Here we are, once again to review the fourth season of Teen Wolf. First let me tell you that I was pretty confused for most of the season, but I still enjoyed it. If I were to compare this season, with the last season, I would say that last season was way more intense, and badass. Season 4 was still a good season, but it wasn't at its best. Let the review begin!

What's Going On?

The 4th season begins in Mexico, after Derek has been taken away by these hunters, known as the Calavaras. Turns out, the Calavaras did not take Derek, they just wanted to meet Scott. The person who has Derek is Kate, who turned him back to his teenage years. This causes Derek to not remember anything, like Scott or the Hale fire. This will allow Kate to manipulate Derek into letting her go into the Hale loft and find a way to learn control. (BTW: I find the fact that the volt was under the school very cliche.) Peter finds Kate at the volt, they're about to fight, until a stranger comes in and takes 117 million dollars from the volt. We're introduced to new characters in the lacrosse team: Liam Dunbar, and Garrett. Kira also joins the lacrosse team, her fox powers really worked out. There's also a new assassin, the Mute, who tries to kill Liam, but Scott saves him, unfortunately he gives him the bite. Liam, of course, thinks Scott and Stiles are crazy, but he then begins to experience the same things Scott went through as a beta. Only Liam has I.E.D (Intermittent Explosive Disorder). Chris Argent comes back, and starts helping the pack again. We also find some more assassins like Garrett, and his girlfriend Violet. These assassins work for the Benefactor who is trying to kill every supernatural in Beacon Hills. There is a deadpool filled with names, and how much they are worth. Each on of these lists has a keyword. The first one was Allison, the second one was Aiden, and the third one was Derek, because banshees predict death, and Derek's death was predicted by Lydia.

We learn a little bit about Liam's past, why he was kicked out of his old school, Devenford Prep, and we meet an old rival Brett Talbot (played by Cody Saintgnue). Garrett, and Violet try killing Brett, but fail, and Violet tries killing Scott, but also fails. Deputy Parrish is also on the deadpool list. (DUN DUN DUN!) Garrett, and Violet both end up dying because of Kate. Lydia also has some attention this season, which I appreciate, and she and Meredith kind of bond. I mean Lydia does drive her insane, enough to kill herself, but then there's the plot twist.

Who is the Benefactor?

Well, I thought that it was going to be Scott's dad, because that would have been the coolest plot twist ever! But the Benefactor was Meredith. Honestly, I wasn't really pleased with that. I mean it was  shocking, but the whole, 'oh Peter Hale was crazy, and started talking about this deadpool, so I'm gonna do it', just didn't make any sense to me. I understand he wanted power but, it was confusing. Anyway, the Benefactor turned out to be a banshee, and it's kind of Peter's fault. The assassins keep coming out of nowhere, because now the Benefactor is giving the list to anyone, who is willing to kill for money. I thought this was a great concept because that happens in reality, people are always willing to kill for money, which isn't right. We do find out that the computer that had all the names of the people on the list was hidden behind the wall at Lydia's Lakehouse. They destroy the computer with a key that was in a wine bottle. The Benefactor is gone.

'I've always been the alpha.' Peter Hale's Plan.

Peter Hale has planned to kill Scott, and take away the alpha in him, since season 3A. So it was not a big surprise that he was around this season. He is very violent this season, specially since Derek was losing his powers. His plan is to kill Scott, by making his friends do it, without realizing it. This plan is put into action in the season finale.

The Big Plan (Finale)

In the finale, the pack, and Peter, go back to Mexico to save Scott and Kira from Kate. Lydia stays back at the school to look for something that belonged to Kira, so they can find her. Of course, a berserker appears at the scene, ready to kill Lydia. Liam calls Mason (played by Khylin Rhambo), to go to the school, and look for Lydia. Instead of finding Lydia, he encounters a Berserker. While all that is happening, Liam cannot control himself, Kira is beaten up by Berserker Scott, and all hell breaks loose. Once Liam is in control with the mantra 'the sun, the moon, the truth,' they all arrive, and Derek is 'killed.' They go inside the big church thing to find Berserker Scott, and they begin to fight. Peter extremely happy watches. Kira finds them, and tells Stiles about Scott, and they stop the fight. After some really corny moments between Liam, and Scott, about him not being a monster, but being a werewolf (I thought it was cute), Scott frees himself, and tells his friends about Peter's plan. Outside, Kate comes out ready to fight, when the Calavaras, Chris Argent, and Jordan Parrish, join in the fight. Braeden still trying to fight, looks out for Derek. Back in Beacon Hills, Mason and Lydia, try to get away from the Berserker, in which we see Lydia step up her badass game (with a baseball bat). The Sheriff ends up bombing the Berserker, and saving them. Meanwhile in Mexico, we have Scott and Peter, in a battle, fighting, and some very badass moves occur. Peter ends up losing. Back outside, just as Kate is about to win the battle, Derek swoops in, as a black wolf, and Kate runs away. Argent tries catching up, and they have a talk, Kate tries to blame the teens on Allison's death, but Chris knows better. Peter ends up in the Eichen House, with one eye wacko.


Opinion:

I'd give this season a 3 out of 5. It wasn't great. Most of the time I was confused, and it just wasn't season 3B. I enjoyed the season overall, it was pretty good, and they did have some plot twists, but it just didn't make sense. I'm hoping Jeff Davis steps up his game in season 5.

Meh.

Hopes For Next Season:

Next season I'm hoping for some Marrish (Lydia & Parrish), and I don't even care if it's just friendship. I also hope that Parrish is a phoenix, because all the signs lead to that, or some kind of dragon dude. I want more Briam (Brett & Liam), because they must be friends, specially after that scene in the locker room. I just want a better season. I need more action.

I don't have any info on when the 5th season is coming out, all I know is that it's only coming out next year. :( Honestly I don't know how I'm surviving. Til then I'll just wait...

• My favorite book would be Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz. I'm a sucker for teenage angst, I love that these two boys discover that they're in love with each other, and the whole book was just adorable.

• The Fault in Our Stars
5. What or who inspired you to start blogging?
• The person who nominated me for this award inspired my to start blogging. I was really unsure if I should create a blog. What would I write about? Would people like it? All these questions were in my mind, until I saw her blog. We talked, and she convinced me to go ahead. I'll always thank her for that. :D
6. Where do you see, or hope to see, your blog in the next year?
• I hope that I'm still working on my blog next year, and that more people read it. I also hope that I can work on my time management skills, because right now, they suck. 
7. Where do you see, or hope to see, yourself in 5 years?
• I hope yo see myself in my second year in college, hopefully at Rutgers or Princeton University, writing stories and reviews, and basically doing what I love.
8. Which do you prefer: Hardbacks or Paperbacks or eReaders?
• Hardbacks. I mean with paperbacks, the covers get bent, and ruined. I don't use eReaders because I like having books on my shelves. I like to look at them and think, 'yeah, I read that giant book, in like three days.' Then I cry because that's all I do. There's also the smell of new books. 
9. What is your favorite book store?
• Barnes & Noble. I could spend hours in there. Specially if it's the big stores, you could just hang around until the store closes. I love it.
10. Find the nearest book, open it to page 93. What does the fifth line read?
• On page 93, the fifth line of 'Maximum Ride: An Angel Experiment' by James Patterson reads: 'Because I didn't think of it.'
11. What's your favorite quote or personal motto?
• My favorite quote right now is: ' You're not strong just because you can lift a lot of weight now. You're strong because you can endure.' This quote is from Teen Wolf, and I felt like this quote applies to everything. Life isn't about being all muscular, and tough, it's about enduring life, because some people can't do it.

Book Review: Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (Contains Spoilers)

We're back to our lovely book reviews. Now, I know I should have reviewed Power Play by Danielle Steel, but I wasn't sure if I should. If you want me to review it, just comment! Anyway, I finished reading Fangirl, because everyone was reading it, and saying how accurate it was to their lives, so I decided to read it as well. Also, I heard there was fanfiction. Where there's fanfiction, there's this girl. I decided to lay things out differently, so it makes more sense. (Sorry for the ramble!)

My Opinion: 

Let me tell you how excited, yet terrified I am of the college life, because of this book. Cath just wanted to be in her dorm room all day, writing fanfiction about Simon and Baz (fictional characters from another book series). Her twin sister, Wren, wanted to make friends and be all on her own. I enjoyed the friendships in this book. Levi and Cath, Cath and Wren, Cath, and Raegan, and Levi and Raegan. I would say I like Nick, but he's a douche, and I hate him. Either way, this book was funny, adorable, and sometimes sad, but it was great. Totally recommend.

What Happens:

As I said before, this book is about two girls, Cath and Wren, who are about to experience their freshman year of college. For Wren, it's great knowing that she's going to be on her own, making new friends, going to parties, getting drunk, and having fun. Cath on the other hand, ins't so excited. Cath spent her whole life with Wren, had the same friends, went to the same parties, shared the same room. Now that she has a new roommate, whose ¨boyfriend¨ keeps waiting for Cath in the hall, she is terrified. In the beginning, she doesn't really talk to her roommate, and she always tries to call her sister. In her class, she is the only freshmen, in a class full of juniors. She also spends most of her time writing her Simon Snow fanfiction 'Carry On.' Cath also worries about leaving her father alone, with no one to help him. She also talks to this guy in her class, Nick, who only likes to talk about words. Plus, her professor doesn't believe in fanfiction (DUN DUN DUN!!) Anyway, she and Wren start drifting apart, and she starts to hang around her roommate more often and her roommate's boyfriend. Of course there are many bumps in the way throughout the book, but I have decided I will let you read the book instead.

Favorite Part:

I definitely enjoy family drama, so I'm gonna go with the part where Wren is in the hospital when she got sick from drinking too much alcohol, Cath goes to visit and her mother is there, and they have this whole argument because their mother is about to leave Wren, and doesn't want to have anything to do with them. I also enjoy all the scenes with their father,  so much bonding.

Conclusion: 

5 out of 5 stars. Great contemporary book!

Top 5 Favorite Books

Since I'm always doing book reviews, and TV series season reviews, I decided to do my top 5 favorite books. Also because I didn't feel like doing the review for Power Play by Danielle Steel. Sorry not sorry. Let's enjoy books!

1. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz

Ever since I read this book, I knew this was going to be number one for me. I literally read this book three times. It's so cute, and sad, and funny, I couldn't handle all the feels. I am hoping to read some of Benjamin's other works, because I hear they are really good.

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe is funny, sad, and it explains what teenagers go through, drugs, sex, friendships, and discovering themselves. Truly amazing, I must say. I did make a review for this book back February, if you wanna go check it out.








2. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak 

I don't think I've every cried so much because of a book. Even though they tell you what happens right in the beginning, like who dies, it still hurts, when it actually happens.  I remember coming to school, and my English teacher asking me how it was, and I almost started crying, because I was still emotional from it. I have not read any other works from Markus.

The Book Thief is set in Nazi Germany, narrated by Death, and it's about what happens during the time of the Holocaust, and what a book can do to a little girl. Dead parents and brother, new parents, and new friends, Liesel reads, makes a friend who is kind of like her, and she discovers the universe that is just mad. I also made a review for this book, and it was actually my very first book review. (FLASHBACKS FROM 'NAM)


3. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

Ah, yes, one of the brilliant works of the infamous John Green had to be in my top 5. I believe I read this book twice. Once, when it came out, and the second time was around Christmas, because I felt like reading it again. I have read another one of his books, Looking For Alaska, which I enjoyed as well. I only cried the second time, because I paid more attention to the details, as for the first time, I kind of just zoomed past it.

This lovely book is about a girl, Hazel, who thinks that there is nothing else she can do in life, because she has cancer. Then there's the boy, Augustus, who wants the world to remember him for something great, not cancer. They meet, they fall in love, and they make each other great. I have not written a review for this book, I am so sorry.

4. The Outsiders by S.E Hinton (AKA: The lady who watches Supernatural. AKA: My queen)

Honestly, the first time I heard about this book, I thought I was going to hate it. Somehow it became, one of my favorite books. I fell in love with all the characters, I literally felt their pain, and I cried like a baby. 'Stay gold Ponyboy, stay gold.' I haven't gotten around to reading it again because I'm trying to read books I haven't read, which is difficult.

The book is about the two groups, The Greasers, and The Socs (Socials). Basically, the Greasers are the poor gangsters group, and the Socs are rich douchebags. The lesson being that not all greasers are poor, and  gangsters, who walk around with shotguns, and not all Socs are rich douchebags. Sometimes you just gotta sit down and watch the sunset. I have written a review for this book, just so you know.

5. Divergent by Veronica Roth

Every time someone says Divergent, I always think about the fact that I read this whole book on Thanksgiving Day. I don't have time for American football, and socializing. Anyway, I don't think I've ever loved a female character so much, since Harry Potter, and Maximum Ride. Another badass book about a dystopian world.

Divergent is about a girl, Beatrice, who has to make a choice of staying, or leaving her family forever. Down the road she discovers that she does not belong in just one faction. She is divergent. In a dystopian world, that is frowned upon many. I have not made a review for this book. Oooops.

Book Review: Confessions of a Murder Suspect by James Patterson (Contains Spoilers)

I really need to make a schedule of when I need to post these things. Alright, so I finished reading COAMS (short for the actual title), by James Patterson a while ago, and I just read two other books by him. First I'm going to review this one. Let's go!

What Happens:
The book begins with two cops banging on the Angel Family's door. Tandy, who doesn't know that her parents were murdered. The two cops tell the Angel kids and their friend Samantha that they must not go into the parent's room. Now all the Angel kids are suspects. Tandy is extremely smart, and she was the last person to see her parents, after she got the Big Chop. Harry is the artistic twin brother, and great pianist, but a disappointment to his parents. Hugo is a ten year old boy with uncanny strenght. Finally, Matthew is a famous all-American football star, who kind of hates his parents.

Tandy is very determined to find out who killed her parents, specially since one of the cops, Caputo, insists that she is guilty. The Angel siblings also had a sister, Katherine, who died because of the Grande Gongo, which was a prize the angel kids would receive if they had done something excellent. Katherine wanted to be an engineer. She flew to South Africa, met a boy named Dominick, and got crushed by a bus. Tandy decides to go into her parents room, even though the Detective Caputo told her not to go anywhere near their room. She walks in and finds these two bottles, and realizes that they may have been poisoned. But, by who? She starts thinking about why her brothers would poison their own parents. Harry, because his parents didn't support him, Hugo because of the Big Chop, and Matthew because he hated that his own parents treated them like trophies. She starts looking at Hugo's diary entries, that talk about how he hated his parents Malcom, and Maud, and he wanted them to die.

In other news, Matthew's girlfriend Tamara, said on an interview that Malcolm was her lover, and the baby's father. Tandy doesn't really believe her, but Harry does. Tandy says that one of the neighbors said that they had heard the Angel parents arguing, and talking about 'financial changes'. Tandy starts suspecting Samantha aka Maud best friend. She goes into her office and finds a gold locket with a piece of paper, a love note from Maud.

Later on Tandy finds a secret door that leads to a lab that Malcom used to make pills or "vitamins" for his kids. Some of them made them stronger, or smarter. Hugo, actually knew about this lab, but he didn't know what Malcolm used it for. Then Tandy suspects her Uncle Peter (Hope he's not a werewolf) because he worked with her father on the pills. Tandy also tells the story of when she ran away to a party, and met a guy, and was caught by her parents, who made sure that she wouldn't remember the boy's face. Anyway, they later on go to a guy's house Nate Crosby, who wanted to make a movie about their parents, but they had refused. They look around the house and find footage from the night of the parents death. They had killed themselves. Turned out that Maud has pancreatic cancer, and when she found out, she could no longer cure it.

My Opinion: 

I always enjoy a good James Patterson book, so this book was awesome. I loved how I had to try and solve the crime on my own, only knowing the clues from each chapter, each confession. By the way, totally fell in love with Harry, my poor misunderstood boy, who just wanted love from his parents (sounds like Dean Winchester).

Favorite Part: 

That would definitely have to be the one where little 10 year old Hugo jumps off the top of a building, and to the ground, scaring the crap out of Tandy, and Harry. The kid does more illegal things than I did when I was 10. Not that I did anything bad, or illegal...I love you mom!

Conclusion:

Good book, totally should read it if you are into mysteries. You know I should really start putting the whether you should read it or not part at the top...Sorry for the spoilers.... But yes, you should read it anyway.

Book Review: The Wave by Todd Strasser (Contains Spoilers)

Finally done with school!!!! Until September that is. Doesn't matter because I can spend more time writing and reading the whole summer. As I stated in my last post, I have read The Wave by Todd Strasser, and I just finished reading Confessions of a Murder Suspect by James Patterson. For now I'll be reviewing The Wave. Enjoy!

What Happens:

This book is based on a true story. A few years after The Holocaust, a class in California was used as an experiment, explaining how most of the German population did not do anything to stop Hitler, knowing that what he was doing was wrong. The teacher, Mr.Ross, is teaching his students about the Holocaust, and one of the students, Laurie, doesn't understand how most of the German population didn't do anything to stop Hitler. Mr. Ross decides to do a one period experiment teaching them posture, how to address him, and basically turning them into mini Nazis. He also makes sure to take away Laurie's confidence, and give some to the class loser, Robert.
The next day, Mr. Ross, comes into class, ready to start a completely different lesson, and stop the experiment, but he walks in, seeing all his students sitting in the correct posture, and they are all on time. Mr. Ross decides to continue the experiment, giving their group a name, The Wave, creating a salute, and telling his students to get other kids in the school to join. In just a few days, The Wave becomes a big deal for students, except for Laurie, who thinks that this isn't letting kids be individuals. She tries to warn people that The Wave isn't helping anyone, by writing in the school newspaper about the bad things of The Wave. Kids who don't want to join The Wave get beat up, and threatened. Laurie's boyfriend, David, who becomes obsessed with The Wave, tries to tell her to stop writing bad things about The Wave, and to join him. Laurie says no, and David pushes her, and hurts her. Realizing what he did, he apologizes and goes with Laurie to Mr. Ross' house, to tell him to end The Wave.
At a later time, Mr.Ross, tells his students that they are going to make The Wave go across America, and he tells them to go to the Wave rally in the auditorium, to meet the real leader of The Wave. Laurie and David try stopping him, but they are sent to the principle's office. When everyone is in the auditorium, Laurie and David try to sneak in. After a long time of waiting, one of the students asks if there is actually a leader. Mr.Ross shows them their leader, Adolf Hitler. He them proceeds to explain about the experiment, and how most of the German population didn't do anything to stop Hitler. Many people were scared of Hitler, and did not want to die. In the end, many students are sad and angry, specially Robert, who wasn't the class loser for once.


My Opinion:

This book was one of those books that I read after I have read a really action packed book, like Allegiant by Veronica Roth, or Nevermore by James Patterson. It was a good book, it taught a good lesson. The book was actually kind of small. I also think that they rushed things too quickly. If I were to give it stars I would probably give it three stars, and half of a fourth one.

Favorite Part:

Any part that had Carl, and Alex. They were absolutely hilarious. They always had an excuse for everything, and they made the book, funny, instead of 100% serious. Other than that, I didn't really have favorite parts.

Conclusion:

Read it if you really want to. I mean it was a good book, but it wasn't really the best. I mean it's educational, and it teaches you a little bit about The Holocaust.

Books That I Read, But Did Not Review

I am back from finals, and other tests that I did not want to take, and most likely failed! I feel like the school I go to is one of the few that hasn't ended yet. Like, c'mon guys, I wanna spend my whole summer doing absolutely nothing, hurry up. Anyway, I've read a few books, that I did not review (sorry), so I'm just going to give the list, a short summary, and opinions on the book.

1. "Dreamhouse Kings: The House of Dark Shadows" by Robert Liparulo

This is the first book of the Dreamhouse Kings series, and there are 5 other books so far. The first book is about the King family moving into a house that many people say is "haunted." They say that the man in the family that used to live there, killed his wife, and children, and then proceeded to kill himself. Without giving away major spoilers, the King family moves into the house, and well, they find some interesting things, within that house. 

I personally enjoyed the book, as the end of it made me very excited to read the rest of the books. I seriously could not stop reading the book. Every time something happened I needed to know more.






2. "Dreamhouse Kings: Watcher of the Woods" by Robert Liparulo

The second book of the Dreamhouse Kings series, follows the cliffhanger of the first book when (SPOILER) something takes one of the members of the King family. Not going to tell you who it is, you can read the book. Anyway throughout the book, the three children (Xavier, David, and Victoria) find out that their father knows something about the house. They also find some strange things in the forest, including a strange man, who wants to take their house.

I think this was my least favorite book, just because it was very slow paced, and I was looking for some action. Also Xavier was being a little baby about the whole situation, and it annoyed me. But it was pretty good, just not my favorite.






3. "Dreamhouse Kings: Gatekeepers" by Robert Liparulo

This is the last Dreamhouse Kings book I read, I swear! Anyway, the third book of the series begins when Xavier and David are in one of the worlds (forgot to mention that in the house, there are doors that lead to different worlds, depending on what object you bring), and they are trying to find the family member that was kidnapped by the thing that was situated in their house. Later in the book, they find out about the person who built the house, and they meet someone from a long time.

I hosnestly thought that this was the last book, so I was really mad with the way Liparulo had ended the book. So I did some research, and turns out there are lke 3 or 4 other books, that I need to read. The third book definitely made up for the last book, making it more action packed, and it had a huge cliffhanger. I'm really excited to read the next book.


4."The Perks of Being a Wallflower" by Stephen Chbosky 

If you have never heard of this book, where have you been? Alright, so this book is about a boy, Charlie, who is about to start his freshman year in high school. He doesn't have many friends and he has anxiety, plus his friend Michael committed suicide the previous year. Charlie decides to start writing letters to a stranger, to help cope with everything that has happened. Throughout the school year, Charlie experiences things such as: first kiss, dealing with bullies, drinking, and drugs, he makes friends, loses them, and then gets them back.

This book was really good. There are so many inspiring quotes, that you don't know which one is your personal favorite. I also laughed at Charlie's oblivion, and Patrick's hilarious jokes. I was really happy with this book, and the fact that it became a movie, that didn't change the whole plot *cough* Percy Jackson *cough.* I think this is one of my favorite books.




5."Looking for Alaska" by John Green

Ah yes, always have to add in a John Green book. This book is about this kid, Miles, who is going to Culver Creek High School, as a junior. He enjoys memorizing people's last words. Also he makes a couple friends like Alaska and the Colonel, also known as Chip. He begins to be very fond of Alaska, even though she has a boyfriend. They drink, do drugs, and by the middle of the book, things get very depressing. But I'm not giving away too much, so you can read the book.

I enjoyed this book, even though it got dark, and depressing, very quickly. It took me awhile to get over the book, and move on because I started thinking about it too much, and I also got really sad, and anxious. I kind of got myself in a funk. However, the book was still well written, and I appreciated the book a lot.


Well, that's all I have for you. Although I am working on my review for the book "The Wave" by Todd Strasser, and I'm almost finished reading "Confessions of a Murder Suspect" by James Patterson. Oh, and I'm also very excited for Teen Wolf season 4, which I believe is next week. So much excitement!!!

TV Show Review: Supernatural Season 9 (Contains Major Spoilers)

It took me a few days/weeks to finally calm myself down from the shocking season finale, but I did it. If you guys don't know Supernatural finished their 9th season with a huge cliffhanger on Tuesday, May 20th. I shall now give you basically what happened the whole season, and what I think might happen next season! There are quite a few filler episodes, so I'm just skipping right to the emotional, and heartbreaking ones.

*Angelic screech*

Season 9:
Alright, so season 9 begins the day after the angels began falling from heaven. Sam and Dean are in the hospital, because Sam is badly injured from the trials from the previous season. Castiel, on the other hand is suffering because his grace was taken from him, by Metatron (one of the antagonists this season), for a spell to cast all the angels from heaven to Earth, and locking heaven down. Castiel, now human, is trying to find some way to contact Dean, to tell him what happened. Dean, who is still in the hospital, watching Sam, goes to pray to Castiel, not knowing what happened. When he sees that Cas does not answer him, he calls out to any angel, and asks them for help. A few angels hear him, and eventually one angel comes to him, Ezekiel, and tells Dean he can help them. Ezekiel tells Dean that he can possess Sam, but not completely. Like Sam can still be Sam, but they sometimes change from Sam to Ezekiel. This will heal both Sam  and Ezekiel, and when they both are healed, Ezekiel says he will leave his body, and back to his own vessel. Dean eventually agrees with this, after finally talking to Cas, and hearing what happened to him, and Cas tells Dean that Ezekiel is a good soldier. While this is all happening, Sam is having a dream, like he thinks he's alive, but he's not. Dean and Bobby are with him, and they are supposed to be him. Dean is him trying to fight and stay alive, while Bobby is the other side, that just wants to be done. Dean keeps trying to convince Sam, and Sam eventually agrees with Dean, also giving permission to Ezekiel to possess him, without him knowing.

Into the season, they keep dropping hints about how Ezekiel isn't who he says he is, and something bad might happen to Sam. We also see Cas experiencing human things like eating, sleeping, sex, and others. By episode 9 we find out that Ezekiel is dead, and that the angel possessing Sam is called Gadreel, and he was a long time prisoner in heaven. Dean asks Kevin to find how to make an angel stop listening, so he can tell, Sam about Gadreel, and tell him to let him out. Unfortunately, Gadreel hears this and knocks Dean out, and kills Kevin. Castiel is tortured and steals an angel's grace.

NOOO!! WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE KEVIN!?!?!?!?!

We come back from mini Christmas hiatus and Dean calls Crowley and Cas to help him take Gadreel out. Crowley tells Dean he can possess Sam, go into his mind, and tell him to make Gadreel get out. After Gadreel finally leaves Sam's body, and Crowley also leaves, Sam is pretty mad at Dean, so Dean tells Cas to stay with Sam, and heal him, and Dean leaves.

Later on Crowley offers Dean a way to kill Abbadon for good. The first blade. In order for the first blade to actually work, you need to own the Mark of Cain. Which only Cain has. So Crowley and Dean go to find Cain and ask him for the first blade and the mark. After much fighting and demonic death, and Cain/Collete storyline, Cain gives the mark to Dean, but tells him that it will become a burden.

Throughout the whole season we see this back and forth arc between beating Metatron, sending the angels back to heaven, and killing Abbadon, and possibly Crowley, who, of course, makes sure that doesn't happen. Anyway, Dean and Sam do end up working together again, but there's a lot of tension going on between the two of them. There's also an episode about them finding out that Kevin's mother isn't dead, and they rescue her, and they tell her Kevin is dead. Since heaven is locked up, souls cannot go to heaven, so he is still a ghost. Kevin goes home with his mother.

Moving back to the first blade, which they found out a guy who belonged in the Men of Letters had. This  man turned out to be a physco who collected things from the supernatural world. When he sees that Dean has the Mark of Cain, he immediately ties him up and keeps him hostage, while sending Sam back out the portal they came through to find the blade. In this episode, we also see Dean use the first blade for the first time. When he cuts the guy's head off, he feels powerful, so powerful, he doesn't want to let the blade go. Sam tells him to let go. Crowley takes the blade, and says he will only give it back, when they find Abbadon.
Later on, Crowley confronts Dean about the power of the first blade. How when he first touched it he felt powerful, yet he felt fear.

In a later episode, close to the finale, Dean finally kills Abbadon. Castiel has an army of angels to battle against Metatron. Sam thinks that the blade is doing something bad to Dean, so he tells him to save it for the big guys, like Metatron. Of course, Dean pretends to listen to Sam, and takes it anyway. Metatron makes the angels from Castiel's army go against him, by sending some of his angels to pretend to be in Cas' army, and killing themselves for Cas'. Tessa kills herself with the first blade, making it look like it was Dean. Metatron also tells the angels from Cas' army that Cas' has stolen a grace from an angel. The angels from his army tell him to kill Dean, and they won't leave, but Cas refuses. Gadreel goes to the bunker and tells Cas, Dean, and Sam that he is on their side, but Dean hurts him with the first blade.

Season Finale:

In the season finale, Sam and Cas lock Dean in the dungeon because obviously Dean needs to calm the hell down, and get himself sorted out. Sam and Cas go back to Gadreel, to heal him and make sure he's okay, so he can help them get to Metatron. In the dungeon, Dean is suffering from side effects of the Mark of Cain. He starts to throw up blood, and coughing violently, so he decides to call Crowley. Crowley tells him that it only gets better if you keep killing. The only reason Cain did not suffer these side affects was because he was also a demon. Back to Sam and Cas, they find Gadreel, after he tried to run away (not because he didn't want to help them). Dean and Crowley go out to find Metatron with the first blade. Metatron is trying to get humanity (not Dean Winchester) on his side, by making miracles, like bringing people back from the dead. This actually reminds me of season 7, when God!Castiel gave vision to a blind man. Do all the bad guys do nice things?

 Anyway, Dean and Crowley find a way to look for Metatron, when Sam finally finds Dean, and tells Crowley to go away. Sam tells Dean that Castiel and Gadreel are trying to find the angel tablet, so they can make Metatron into a regular angel, like all the others. Dean agrees to letting Sam go with him. When they arrive to a homeless shelter kind of thing, Dean knocks Sam out, and takes the first blade with him. Metatron and Dean talk and begin to fight. Gadreel and Cas get to one of the portals to go to heaven, and Gadreel tells the angels that Metatron told him to get Castiel, but the angels lock them up in a cell.
 Back to Metatron and Dean, who is losing the battle against Metatron. At one point Dean drops the first blade, and tries to get it back, and Metatron stabs him with the angel blade, just as Sam arrives. In the cell, Hannah (one of the angels) is arguing with Cas about how he betrayed them, and Gadreel is freaking out, and comes up with a plan. He carves the sigil the angels Metatron had on his chest, and kills himself, so Castiel can get to the angel tablet.

NOOOO! DAMN YOU METATRON!!!! *CRIES, again*

 When Cas finally gets to it, he just drops it on the floor, just as Dean's head hits the concrete floor. Sam runs towards Dean, and tries to kill Metatron, but he disappears. Sam tries to keep Dean alive, but Dean knows that he's not going to live, so he tells Sam he's proud of them.Dean dies, and Sam cries on his shoulder. Metatron confronts Cas about how he does everything for Dean, and tells him about how he should be the new God, and how the angels will listen to him because they think you betrayed them. Metatron tells Cas that Dean is dead. As Metatron is saying this the radio for all the angels is on, so they hear everything, and they take Metatron to a cell.


Sam takes Dean to the bunker, and lays him on his bed, his eyes red from crying, and he goes to try and summon Crowley, probably to make a deal. Crowley is in Dean's room and starts telling Dean how he didn't expect this to happen to him. Crowley tells dead Dean a story he didn't tell him about Cain. Cain tried to kill himself after Collete's death, and then he became a demon. Guess what happens to Dean? HE BECOMES A FREAKIN' DEMON, and the screen goes black. LIKE HIS EYEBALLS!

Sam & Dean's Relationship:

The brother's relationship this season was very tense. Sam being angry at Dean, because he lied to him about Gadreel. Sam telling Dean that if the roles were switched, but it was the same situation he wouldn't have done what Dean did. Dean becoming obsessed with the first blade, and with killing Abaddon and Metatron. Dean not wanting Sam's help. Kevin's death. They weren't in great terms this season.

Castiel in Season 9:

Castiel had quite the adventure this season. Beginning with being human, and having to get used to the human pain, and the ways of humanity. He has to hide from the angels who are trying to kill him. He also has sex. Go Cas! Later on he steals some angel's grace, which we find later on, that it's burning him on the inside. Many angels who were not on Metatron's side wanted Castiel as a leader, even though Cas knew that he could not lead an army of angels against Metatron. He does it anyway, and later on the army of angels leave him, finding out that Cas stole an angel's grace. Metatron also keeps hinting that Cas is in love with Dean.



Overall Feelings:

I enjoyed season 9. I mean sometimes I got bored with the filler episodes, but at the same time I enjoyed them. It was all funny, sad, intense, badass, the usual Supernatural season. I'm really looking forward to season 10, because I really wanna see what they do with demon!Dean. I don't want it to be like a few episodes, and then they fix the problem, I wanna see demon!Dean for a while. I liked all the episodes, including the spin-off episode, Bloodlines, that practically no one liked. I have to say it was a good season, with a bangin' finale, and a shocking cliffhanger.

I also heard that Mark Sheppard was cast a a season regular for season 10, which excites, and scares me, all at once.

I think that's about it. We all just need to wait for season 10, which comes out in, like, I don't know 4 or 5 months, maybe? I'm gonna be okay. I really am. *sobs*

Book Review: The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken (Contains Spoilers) + News!

Hello darlings. Alright, so as you know I've been done with The Darkest Minds for a while, and I'm waiting for an opportunity to get the other books of this series, so I also read the Dreamhouse Kings series. I'm currently on the 3rd book, Gatekeepers, and soon I'll be done. I think I'm going to do smaller reviews on those books, but I'm not sure yet. Plus, Supernatural, and Hannibal are almost in their own season finales, so I will (hopefully) write them soon. Until then, enjoy!

What Happens: 

This girl, Ruby, discovers that she as this power, but it's dangerous. Her parents send her to a camp, along with other kids who have the same sort of power, but not the exact. There are four colors in which these kids are assigned to, depending on their power. Red is fire, Blue is telekinesis, Green is intelligence, yellow is electricity, and orange (being the most dangerous) is mind control. Now, I'm going to let you guys figure out which power Ruby has. (HINT: IT'S  ORANGE) Anyways, six years in the camp, she finally escapes with a doctor Kate. Anyway, as she is escaping with Kate and Martin (aka psycho), they both meet up with another guy (Kate's Boyfriend), they go get changed into other clothes, and then it all goes down. All of a sudden everyone's being chased, and Ruby ends up in the back seat of a van, which is when she meets Liam Stewart, Chubs, and Su. They each have their own powers, and they're trying to find the Slip Kid, who takes them to a beautiful place, and it's where all the camp fugitives go to. I'm not gonna go into complete detail on what happens throughout the whole book, so I'm going to skip some parts and go straight to where it all goes down. So they find the Slip Kid, who appears to be a nice person, but actually he isn't. His real name is Clancy Gray, and he's the son of the President, who is sending all the kids to the camps. But the camp Clancy has is just like his father's, only it looks prettier, and he's manipulating people, because he's an Orange. At first he starts teaching Ruby about her powers, but actually he's just trying to get into her mind, in order to control her. He separates her from Liam, Chubs, and Su goes to California with her cousin. When Ruby, Liam, and Chubs try to escape, everyone is being brainwashed and they can't leave. When they finally do escape, they go hand in the letter to their friend who died when trying to escape camp with Liam (don't remember the name, sorry). Ruby then hits the Panic Button that Kate gave her, and Chubs is shot. I believe they do give the letter, and Chubs is fine. In the end, Ruby erases Liam's memory, and leaves them.

My Opinion: 

I really like this book, and I want to read it again, so I can remember more details from it. Unfortunately since it was a library book, I have to give it back, and I only read it the day before it was due. I also really want to read the second book, which I need to find. I remember after reading the book, going on Youtube to watch PolandBananasBOOKS booktalk about this book, which I will leave a link to at the end! I think this is an overall great book, I love the characters, and I love all the character development that happened.

Favorite Part:

I'm torn between the scene where Liam and Ruby are in the van holding hands, and when Ruby and Su are picking clothes for eachother. Either way I thought those scenes were adorable!

Conclusion:

I think you should read it. I mean who doesn't want to get their heart broken into millions of pieces. I know I sure love it!
